Hello,
I've published nearly 100 issues of a regional magazine (created in InDesign) and have used Issuu.com to create flipbooks which I've then posted on the magazine's website.
After issue 100 in December, I'm closing down the magazine, but readers have asked that access to the issues remain available digitally. But I've been unhappy with Issuu for years and I really don't want to rely on a subscription service for a publication that is no longer earning money.
Is there any way to "post" the magazines on a new Wordpress website so readers can still turn the pages like they do with flipbooks? Many of the layouts are two-page spreads and just look wrong in single page pdf view. I'm not asking how to upload something to Wordpress, but how to prepare the magazine files so they can be viewed on my website like a traditional magazine - cover, two-page spreads, back cover - in any of Adobe's apps? Preferably InDesign.
Please keep in mind - I am NOT a trained designer. I learned enough to do what I needed to do to create this magazine every month, but I don't understand most of the jargon and terminology I see in many of these forum posts. Please dumb it down for me. 😄
Any guidance greatly appreciated!

There are myriad WordPress plugins that can do this and you'll get a ton of help in any of the countless WordPress forums and help sites. For what it may be worth, I use this one on several client sites: Real 3D FlipBook – PDF Viewer and 3D FlipBook
Just export your PDF normally and do not export spreads.

So I buy this and use it to create each issue, then upload the issues to my Wordpress site? No subscription or online "storage" of files required?

Correct. You upload the PDFs and use the plugin to display them. Refer to the documentation. It's quite easy to configure.

Keep in mind that 100 magazine PDFs may represent a considerable amount of data, and may have costs for both host space and DL bandwidth. Hosting is generally generous on both these days, but you do pay hosts like Issu for a reason.

Yeah...good point. File it under "you get what you pay for."

Thanks, guys! My hosting plan is pretty extensive, but that's a valid point and I'll check it out.
I also saw a link in another post for a flipbook creator - upload pdf, convert, download file, then upload to website. https://www.flipbookpdf.net/ but the Wordpress plug-in would be cheaper. If the plug-in is as easy to use, then it's the logical choice.
I really appreciate the help! Saving this page to refer back to later.
