Replacement for online flipbook subscription
Hello,
I've published nearly 100 issues of a regional magazine (created in InDesign) and have used Issuu.com to create flipbooks which I've then posted on the magazine's website.
After issue 100 in December, I'm closing down the magazine, but readers have asked that access to the issues remain available digitally. But I've been unhappy with Issuu for years and I really don't want to rely on a subscription service for a publication that is no longer earning money.
Is there any way to "post" the magazines on a new Wordpress website so readers can still turn the pages like they do with flipbooks? Many of the layouts are two-page spreads and just look wrong in single page pdf view. I'm not asking how to upload something to Wordpress, but how to prepare the magazine files so they can be viewed on my website like a traditional magazine - cover, two-page spreads, back cover - in any of Adobe's apps? Preferably InDesign.
Please keep in mind - I am NOT a trained designer. I learned enough to do what I needed to do to create this magazine every month, but I don't understand most of the jargon and terminology I see in many of these forum posts. Please dumb it down for me. 😄
Any guidance greatly appreciated!
