RGB [Black] Swatch to CMYK

INDD has RGB [Black] swatch.

How do I change it to CMYK [Black]?

The INDD was created with the intent of being digital only, but a year later, needs to be a print file.

[Black] is used both as text and as the background for white text.

Tried, unsuccessfully: "Edit/Transparency Blend Space", this no longer changes the [Black] swatch (this worked for 15 years, stopped working a few years ago).

Tried, unsuccessfully: "File/Document Setup", "Intent" from "Digital" to "Print", this has not changed the [Black] swatch from RGB to CMYK.

I have a workaround of creating a new CMYK Black swatch, but I'd prefer an actual solution.

Ideally, I'd prefer a solution that doesn't envovle having to make setting adjustments everytime I export to PDF.

I have read solutions in these discussions, but none of them have helped.

InDesign 2024 19.0, Windows 10.

Thank you in advance.

Solution 99% of the time: "File/Document Setup", "Intent" from "Digital" to "Print".

If that solution fails, save the INDD as an IDML, opened it and the [Black] should display correctly as CMYK.

Thanks everyone!

Just copy contents of your document to a new one that is for printing - where [Black] is CMYK.

That should work—it works for me in CC2021. Have you tried trashing your Caches folder and if that doesn’t work trash your preferences?

Yeah, converting from Web to Print converts to CMYK.
