Hi @floriang74402129

Which one are you struggling with—the trackpad or a mouse? Remember that Control+Click on the keyboard will open the context menu. If right clicking isn't working anywhere, not just in InDesign, then check your Mac preferences.

On the trackpad:

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about this. I would like to know if the steps suggested above by @Randy Hagan worked for you? If not, I would request you to share a few more details like:

  • The exact version of Illustrator
  • A screenshot or small video demonstrating the issue would be really helpful.
  • Is Illsutartor updated to v26.0.1?
  • Does resetting Illustrator Preferences (https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/setting-preferences.html) help to resolve the issue?
Disclaimer: Please note that resetting preferences will remove all the custom settings, and Illustrator will launch with default settings. You can also take a backup of the folders in case you want to. Location is mentioned in the article.

Kindly update the discussion if you still need assistance with it. We'd be happy to help.

Thanks & Regards,

Anshul Saini

Have you specifically set up your mouse/touchpad to accept right-clicking?

Check your system preferences for your trackpad and mouse (separate preferences) to ensure that 1) they're set up for Secondary click on the right button, and 2) that they're set up to activate the context-sensitive menu/Control+Click preferences when you do.

This should hopefully get you past your issues.

Hope this helps,

Randy
