Question

script for relinking files in multiple documents

Does anyone have a script that will relink files to files with a different name, across different documents?

I have about 15 files that all have the same image (lets say it's called "circle.jpg") and I need to change that image to "square.jpg" in each of the 15 documents.  The tedious way would be to open each file, go to the links panel, click on "relink," and navigate to the "square.jpg" file to replace the image.  Is there a script that will do this automatically?  I want to be able to tell the script "Open up all .indd files in this folder, and replace all circle.jpg links with square.jpg"

Thank you!!!

What OS and version of InDesign are you on? It's always good to include that in your question.

In addition to Mary's point, you should also state what you're looking for. Some advice on how to go about writing such a script? A ready-made script that you're willing to pay for?

No, I haven't, and I have searched all over the internet and cannot find one.  I would really appreciate if anyone could write a script for this, or find one that is already written.

Thanks
