Search/replace for color not working

Participant ,

I already restored my preferences. It does not help, I cant search/replace colors because indesign doesnt find them regardless what I do. Some colors wont get found, some I can search and replace and get some wired answer like "8 instances found and replaced" but the replacement does not occur.

It used to work and I dont know why this does not work anymore.

Test file attached. I cant find White1 and White2 even if it is clearly there and the top marker color is there but search/replace finds it but does not replace it.

Hi @Lordrhavin ,

thank you for the attached InDesign document.

When I search for swatch "White1" I can find it 10 times in the document.

What color is it you like to replace it with?

I tested find/replace with my German InDesign 2023 version 18.5.0 on macOS 12.6.8.

It worked as expected.

What is your exact version of InDesign?

What is the version of your operating system?

Hi @Lordrhavin ,

can you also show some screenshots of your Find/Replace panel so that we can see what exactly is going on?

Thanks,

Hallo @Lordrhavin ,

Gruss,

(Lets do english, so everyone can read.)

Regardless of what color I search (white1, white2), I cant get any instances of it. Neither on single search nor on change all. When I search for "marker Top color" and want to change it in "White1", I get 8 instances but no visible change is occuring; the Magenta colored things still are Magenta. When I do this again, I get 0 instances.

Hi @aniri5j9ox8tw2ln ,

first I thought the same ( your now removed comment ), but the same options are enabled within my InDesign on macOS. It's just the different GUI color that misleaded you…
