24H2 is a major update and there might be dot updates I'm not a windows 11 users.
However, I've seen across the board with other applications issues with 24H2 update.
As it's a major update you have something like 10 days to revert it.
Anytime I see an update for an OS I just ignore it, if all is working fine, then forget about the OS updates unless you have to update. Turn off all auto updating in Adobe, Windows, Mac - that's what I always do.
@Eugene Tyson As I mentioned, 24H2 is a version number, not an update. There have been 15 UPDATES to that version.
Windows 11 doesn't list their versions and updates the same as Macs do:
I'm running the Dec. UPDATE without issue. It appears to be the Jan. update causing the problems.
(I am Mac AND Windows user.)

First - reset preferences.
But most like - you've the same problem as reported by others - 24H2 update on Win 11 - you need to uninstall it / rollback.

Just a note that it's not th 24H2 entire update itself. I'm running it without issue and my update is from Dec. 2024. It's appears to be the one that recently came out on Jan. 28th.
Someone mentioned they fixed the issue by running a Windows repair.

24H2 is a _version_ of Windows 11. The updates actually look like this: KB5050094.
(It IS Microsoft afterall...)

I don't recall hearing about any problems until after the last update on Jan 28th but I haven't researched it.
One person on the forum said a repair solved the problem. It's easy to do so I would try it first.

Try what @Dave Creamer of IDEAS suggested - repair - you have no choice...
You can do restore point first.

I'm also having an issue with selection and moving frames. When I select an object, it takes a few seconds for the frame to be highlighted. If I move it using mouse, there is a delay. If I move it using keyboard arrow keys, the object doesn't move until I click the mouse on the paste board, or use the W key to toggle on/off preview. This issue is exacerbated when working on my dual 4K screens, but still present working on 1x UHD screen + MBP screen. VERY FRUSTRATING and major impact on productivity. This software is way too expensive to have these types of bugs making it through to releases and not patched immediately.
I'm on MacOS 15.3. Macbook Pro M3 Max and Indesign 20.1. Updated on 26/27th January. Preferences rolled back to factory with no improvement.

What happens if you update to 20.1? You can always downgrade afterwards if necessary.

Hi Dave, I'm on 20.1 – that was the update that happened in late January.
I've been suffering through waiting for an update to come through. Can't believe it hasn't yet.

I'm sorry--I misread our post. My brain saw 20.01, which as the previous version.
I'm running it fine on an M1

Hi @adamk93229702,
Thanks for sharing the details. Since you're experiencing this issue on a multi-monitor setup, could you try testing it in Safe Mode and see if the behavior changes? Additionally, please share a screenshot of your Mac's display settings, including the external monitors.
It would also be helpful to test the issue in InDesign 2024 (version 19.5) to see if the problem persists. You don’t need to uninstall the latest version to do this. You can refer to this guide for installing a previous version: https://adobe.ly/42UU42r
Let us know how it goes.

Bit the bullet and rolled back to 20.0.1 – much better.
Read this article today. Feels very familiar. https://www.creativebloq.com/features/what-happened-to-quark
– Price gouging when perceived to have a monopoly. Not having a 'Design bundle' offering ID, PS, IL and Acrobat at a reasonable price compared to having to buy the entire Creative Cloud subscription is outrageous. I've asked our rep about whether it exists behind the scenes, and it doesn't. A cold, hard gouge by Adobe.
– Dated software that can't make use of modern hardware with multiple process cores. Still runs poorly on my M3 Macbook Pro.
So is Adobe now the monopoly player Quark once was? Is the company unconcerned with how user-unfriendly many product features are because it knows by now it has little to fear from the likes of Scribus, Quark itself or any number of other alternatives?
Maybe there's a programmer in a garage or spare room somewhere coding tomorrow's leaner, nimbler, more compelling page layout tool and history will only repeat itself.
I really hope so. This software is junk compared to modern offerings like Figma.

I had this exact issue: Adobe Support uninstalled KB5050094, and it started working fine after a restart. The update did re-install, breaking ID again, but removing it a second time and stopping Windows from trying to install it a third time has worked for me.
