good Morning,

I am a beginner in Adobe In Design . I am making some practices in splitting a text frame in 2 or more columns. Surprisingly the columns Start from the Right side  despite the left-right direction is On . How to fit this Problem?

Thank you Sirs.

    Hi there,

I would like to know if the steps suggested above worked for you, or the issue still persists.

Kindly update the discussion if you need further assistance with it.

    Thanks,

As Uwe says, the order of the columns is dependent on the story direction, not the text direction.

Select the text frame, go to Type > Story, and at the bottom of the little Story panel you will see two icons (presuming you have the ME version of InDesign installed). For LTR story direction, it's the left icon you want.

    Hi,

    check these 2 features:

    - text alignment (paragraph panel), is it on the left or on the right?

    - flip horizontal the object (see the yellow square, it should be on the right side of the frame)

Do you use a Middle East Version? In the opbject properties, best in Object Style, you can define the direction of text, obviously you have RTL instead of LTR selected.

    Thank you Willi,

indeed the version i work on is ME V8 In Design CS6. I go, as advised , through window/object style/ but i cannot find anything about directions of text.

I can only tell it's the Story Direction you are looking for.
