Set up a baseline grid that works consistently across facing pages?

I’m trying to set up a baseline grid in InDesign that stays perfectly consistent across facing pages in a print layout. Even though I’ve aligned text to the grid, the lines don’t match up between left and right pages, especially with different margins or columns. How can I make the baseline grid uniform across the entire spread?

If you baseline grid has its origin on page edge it is the case anyway. If you change it in preferences to margins, you have to do some math ca.

Bear in mind that you not only define a baseline grid in preferences, but then also turn on baseline grid alignment in the paragraph styles you are using to control the text.
