Shift & Alt Keys Not Working

For a while now, the Alt and Shift keys are not working in InDesign. I can't proportionally scale boxes nor can I quickly copy layers with Alt. Any suggestions? I've re-installed the program already.

Hi Kelsey:

Other applications can interfere with InDesign's modifier keys. Try rebooting your computer and only open InDesign. Does that make a difference? And are you running Webroot? That app is cited more that others as causing a conflict.

Yep, I'm running Webroot on my Mac. I'll give restarting a try. Thank you!

Hi, Barb! I'm running on a macbook 2019 i9, macOS Catalina, latest indesign version and I can't get the modifier keys to work. I downgraded to 16.0.2 and it all seems to work perfectly. Maybe it's something to do with the update 🙂
