Shortcut for Horizontal Scale

Is there a shortcut for Horizontal Scale or is it possible to create one?  I use horizontal scale extensively and find it quite labourious to have to go up to the panel each time.

Yes, otherwise we are just guessing. I personally dislike horizontal scaling, but there can be a use for it in a design situation.
