show hidden garbage text like lorem ipsum text

Hello,

I just used the javascript script ExportAllStories.jsx in order to clean my indd file from all garbage text like lorem ipsum.

I got hundreds of Story files named StoryID82428.txt among which I found too many files full of lorem ipsum texts.

My issue is I don't know how to fetch those garbage stories because when I search in the document for the garbage texts like lorem ipsum text, I allways get "no match" whereas for my visible text, the search feature works well.

Could you please help fetch the hidden Stories I can export but I can't see when I display my doc in normal mode ?

Do you mean that you can't see this text, i.e. it's not visible? Then it might be a case of the text on a hidden layer or the textframe itself being hidden, in such a case you will have to enable the search on hidden layers and objects. There is a button to do that in the search dialog under the Search dropdown, try enabling it and then searching.

    Hello Manan,

    The text I wanted to clean was actually on master pages.

    Thanks to your help, I discovered the button "include Master pages" on the search panel.

    I understand that the javascript script really exports all texts including the master pages.
