Currently using InDesign 2022 for a project and it is claiming both of these text boxes are 12pt. When I make a new text box it makes it the smaller of the two choices and I prefer the bigger, and also I don't think the smaller is 12 pt. it looks like 6 pt. How do I fix this ?

It looks like your smaller text has Superscript applied. That would make the text smaller and move it up above the baseline, as yours seems to be.
