I am having issues with spell-check, which is changing the language it references the dictionary against. Yesterday it was French, and today in a new document it's Finnish. I have checked my main language preferences and they are as they should be. I have also changed the language in the spell-check settings, where I can see the language has changed. However, as soon as I change it here and close the dialog box, it reverts to the wrong language again. My version of Indesign is up to date, so this must be a bug.

Hi @Andy5EDE,
As Willi mentioned, you can find the Language option under Advanced Character Formats in the Character panel and in Paragraph style panel. Please check and confirm the language set there.
Also, please find a guide on spell-check: Check spelling, autocorrect, and dynamic spelling. If the issue persists, try resetting InDesign preferences (after backing them up) and test again. Reference: https://adobe.ly/41NT4w4
Let me know how it goes!
