Spread Layout, but print 2 up

I have a small booklet I've made using a spread layout (left / right pages). The document is 4.5 x 6 with .125 outside bleed. It's about 110 pages long.

We print this in house as a "booklet" using Adobe Acrobat which, when prining to our internal Konica C365 printer on 8.5" x 11" paper. It is then trimmed as a printed stack and then comb-bound.

What I"m wondering is if there is a way to tell Indesign (or Acrobat) to print TWO-UP so that we can get 2 copies on 8.5" x 11" paper, or FOUR copies on 11 x 17" paper. That way, each print either gives us (2) or (4) copies per print and makes less waste.

What i've done in the past is create a NEW document and then manually take each page of the PDF and then lay them out either 2 up or 4 up. It's a lot of work.

So is there a way to tell Indesign to give me a PDF that has 2 up or 4 up? I'm guessing this has to do with impositioning, but I don't really know much about that. I'm really hoping theres something that I can do in ID or AR that will help me do this.

Thank you in advance.

Consider obtaining an imposition software. There are standalone and Acrobat plug-in versions available. Then you can impose your single page documents, repeat the "positions," stack/cut, etc.

Actually, Montax is what I use. Back when I bought it, it was only a plugin. Today I would buy the standalone version.
