Striped Triangle

I am trying to make a triangle made up of stripes such as this one:

I attempted to do this by drawing out some stripes, making them into a compound path, and putting a triangle behind the stripes. I then tried to use intersect on the pathfinder tool to create a triangle made up of stripes, but that just created a white triangle with a black outline.

Does anyone know of an easy method I can use to make the type of triangle above? Thanks!

Try drawing the lines with rectangles instead of line tool. Then lay the triangle shape (no file) on top and select Pathfinder/Minus Back

See screen shot for another way that does not involve converting the strokes into closed paths:

Draw the set of lines and group them. Then copy (command/control-C) or cut (command/control-C) them to the pasteboard. Finally with the unstroked and unfilled triangle selected use the Paste Into command under the Edit Menu.
