**Subject**: Feature Request - Ordering of Column and Paragraph Rules in InDesign

Dear Adobe Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I am an avid user of Adobe InDesign and appreciate the capabilities it brings to the design community. I am writing to discuss a specific feature (or, potentially, the lack thereof) which I believe could greatly enhance the workflow for many designers.

**Issue at hand**:
In the current version of InDesign that I'm using, when both column rules (filets verticaux or "colombelles") and paragraph rules are applied within the same text frame, the column rules always render in front of the paragraph rules. This means that any paragraph rule, which many of us use as separators or design elements, gets obscured by the column rule.

**Feature Request**:
I kindly request an enhancement that allows users to define the layering order of these elements. Specifically, I'd like an option within the Paragraph Rules or the Text Frame Options where one can choose to send the column rules to the back, allowing the paragraph rules to be visible in front.

This adjustment would offer designers an additional layer of flexibility when working with complex layouts, without resorting to manual workarounds or employing separate text frames.

**Why this is important**:
While there are alternative methods to achieve similar visual results (like manual line placements or using multiple text frames), these can be time-consuming and less efficient. This enhancement would streamline the design process, reduce the need for additional objects, and provide a more integrated experience.

Thank you for considering this request. The continuous improvements and updates to Adobe InDesign are much appreciated, and I believe this feature would be a valuable addition to the software. Please do let me know if any further details or clarifications are needed.

Yeh - pretty sure people can find their own way there.

I must update that Macro to a more direct link.

Thanks for sharing.

Eugene is correct. The volume of messages on this forum is such that Adobe engineers and product managers don't have time to look for feature requests like yours. The feature request section Eugene pointed to is specifically set up for that, and users can vote to support requests which they like.
