Synchronize Book and Synchronize Options

Is there any difference between Synchronize Book and Synchronize Options?

The Synchronize Options dialog lets ytou select which things will be synchronized when you run the Synchronize Book Command. They work as a team, essentially.

I usually use Synchronize Options to make sure I have the right selections; there is a sync book button there too.  

Generally, use what is called "pessimistic" settings--that is, only sync the items you just changed. If you only created/updated character styles, only sync those (include swatches if necessary). Don't sync everything all the time.

Once selecting options with Synchronize Options, I can Synchronize Book, skipping Synchronize Options?
