Table of contents pulling text style from section page rather than overwriting it

Hello,

          So I am trying to create an automated table of contents for a document and to make the document look nice, our section pages have a different font style that is white and a different size, When I'm trying to overwrite this font style in the TOC options and generate the table of contents it is not overwriting this font style so the table of contents has a large amount of large white text, I essentially need to know how to make the TOC automatically overwrite the font style of this so that there are no manual changes required so we can speed up the making of these documents,
