hi, I don't understand why InDesign doesn't offer "target: blank" to open a new page in the "hyperlink / url" function? Can someone tell me why this simple little checkbox is not present (and it could make our lives easier)? Thanks!

Those would have no application since you are linking out of a PDF as the origin. Those attributes are relative to a link within a html webpage browser, especially for spawning and opening a new tab.

target="_blank", target="_parent", target="_self" are for web pages to web pages in tabs or same or new browser instances.

I put my "interactive" pdf brochures on a web server. When the person opens the pdf (example: http:/www.borchure.pdf) and there are links in it, it is impossible to open the link in a new tab: it closes the pdf....... do you understand ?

Hi @bastien25055890erqx ,

you mean, when the person opens the pdf in a browser?

Just tested this in Firefox:

when on macOS the solution is to hold the CMD key when clicking a link. Then the link will open in a new tab.

When on Windows it should be the Ctrl key.

yes, for my clients, not for me. and my clients doesnt knows "keys, cmd, ctrl etc......... " ...... it will be more easier to have the "target blank"  option in indesign, ...... simply.
