Good day! Is anyone experiencing the same issue? Some texts somehow become transparent or the color swatch selected becomes "None" when editing.
I hope this gets fixed since we are working in a publishing company and this is a big risk for us. We don't know if there are other books with similar errors.
Thank you!

Cannot say I have ever seen anything like that. Over 20 years using InDesign. And 25 years of experience as a typesetter, I have not experienced this behaviour.
I see you're using InDesign 2020 - so it's not an issue with the latest update or anything like that.
The only thing I can suggest is that perhaps there is a Shortcut or a GREP/Nested style assigned to the colour None.
I also see you have Preflight turned on but only for Basic
You can set a Preflight check for colour overrides
You can change your preflight options to include text set to None colour.

Can you copy and paste just the affected paragraph into an empty document and try again. Does it happen there, too? If so can you please post the new InDesign file with just that paragraph?

I think this is related to what I am experiencing. And it says it's a bug in InDesign. I hope this is fixed with the updated version of InDesign.

The post you mentioned also says that the issue is fixed in later versions than 17.2. Which version are you on? Can you make a paragraph available to test on different systems. Please also state your exact ID version and the operating system you are working on.

Hi! Here's the test as per your instruction, the ID version, and OS.
Note that the missing text is still "transparent" when copy-pasted to a new document.
I wanted to update to the latest ID version but the update is not compatible with my OS.
Thank you!

Unfortunately you have an old version of InDesign (15.x) running. The bug was resolved in InDesign 17.2. Also your macOS is already a bit dated. You can see compatibility of earlier InDesign versions here: https://helpx.adobe.com/de/indesign/system-requirements/earlier-versions.html
It seems you may need to update your macOS. Your iMac is compatible with macOS Catalina (10.15) … see here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT210222
InDesign 17.2 runs on Catalina. This might be the solution to solve your problem.
