Text Box changes when cut and pasted

I am trying to duplicate a poster template. When I cut and paste certain text boxes the type changes on the paste. The text box size and the text point size stay the same but for some reason the type overflows. All the settings, includeing leading, tracking and kerning all seem to be the same. Here is what it looks like

I am using Indesign 15 on a MacBook pro running Catalina.

If you are pasting into a different document, it could be that the baseline grid is not the same in the two. If that is the case, and the text is set to align to the baseline grid, the text could be pushing down to the next gridline, throwing it out of your box.

Where is a good place to check to see if the type is set to align to the baseline? I made a paragraph style based on the text it showed it wasn't set to align to baseline.

Maybe that this propeerty changes upon paste as if a style is depending on anohter one it would inherit the properties of an existing style with the same name of the new document.

Look into the Paragraph Panel or the Properties Panel:

NOTE: If you select both paragraphs in your text frame and both of the icons are not selected you have a mixed situation. One paragraph is aligned to the baseline grid, the other one is not:
