Text columns are not aligning and columns not balanced.

Text columns are not aligning, starting on a particular page and the columns are not balanced.

Here is what I have:

Balance Columns is checked for both in text frame options.

Align top is checked.

My First Baseline offset says Ascent and 0.

I have tried different settings in Baseline Grid, but not sure what to do and nothing has helped so far.

As far as I see, you use for each column a different teext frame. The function to balance text columns works only, if you use text frames with multiple colums.

To align text in all columns use align to baseline grid as part of the Paragraph Styles.

To get reliable results from Align to baseline grid, do the following:

Go to Preferences > Grids
Change the Start value to whatever your top margin value is.
Change the Increment Every to the leading of your body copy.
Keep the leading of subsequent text sizes for subheads, headlines, etc to a multiple of the leading of the body copy.

eg: 10 point will give a default leading of 12pt (120%). So, if you're setting up a subhead, make it a subset of 12. eg 18 or 24 instead of 19 or 20.
