Text dissapeared and I cannot edit it (it does show up in Story)

I have opened previously made INDD (v17.1 on Mac) and all text boxes appear empty. I try to enter the text box, but it is not possible. I can move it, so it is not locked.

Text does appear in Story.

Exporting PDF produced blank page.

Please help ASAP.

First step in standard troubleshooting is to save as .idml format and re-open.

Also, please check the Layers Panel, "Layer Options" and make sure "Show Layer" is checked on.
