When I copy a text box with customized settings for text frames to another InDesign document the customized settings don't follow. The indents are set to 0 all over, even though the copied box has different indent values.
My colleagues don't have the same problem. I've tried to reinstall InDesign and deleting the default settings, but it doesn't help.
It's really annoying.
Any solutions?

Hi,
What is the object style applied to the text frame in the source document? and what is the name of object style applied to text frame in destination document?
Are they [Basic text frame]+ in source and [Basic text frame] in destination?
What are the settings of these object styles?

Hi,
Can you please post a picture of where I can see these settings?
My InDesign is in Swedish so I'm trying to figure it out.

Hi,
Select the frame to check the object style applied to it. Double click the object style to reveal its information...

I think the easiest way around this is to take a moment to save your custom text frame as an object style (Alt/Option click on the New Style button at the bottom and give it a name) then when you copy the frame in one file and paste it in another it brings along the object style name and definition. It you don't, differing default [Basic Text Frame] definitions in the two files will cause it to reformat.

Hi,
BarbBinder yes thats what it should be.
But suprisingly this issue has come multiple times so i assume there must be something different.

Hi Aman: I can't tell from reading those posts if they lack a full understanding of how object styles work, or if something changed with pasting frames and object styles in CC 2018. Did something change between the two versions that you are aware of?

Hi,
With reference to styles, nothing other than adding size and position in Object styles.
Like you must have seen in the past, everything in InDesign is inter-related and something somehow must have crept in unknowingly.

Hopefully you've figured it out by now but I've had the same problem!
I have figured out if I select the text box, go to Object Styles, then to its menu and select 'Break link to style', I can then copy the box without a problem.
