Hi, I am new in InDesign and trying to create parent page with text box, into which I will be able to insert text on document pages on which this parent page template will be applied. Creating text box on the parent page us not a problem. The issue is, that if I apply this parent page template to the new page in my document, the text box is marked by blue lines but cannot be activated by clicking to insert a text in it.

Could you please advice what am I doing wrong?

Many thanks, Eduard

If you want that the text flows according to the parent page text frame and changes if you apply a different parent page, you have to use primary text frames.

If you only want the single text frame to be activated, Cntl-Shift click on it (Cmd-Shift click on Mac).

If you want, you can select multiple pages in the Pages panel and use the panels menu to override parent items. (If you want to protect some parent items, put them on a separate layer and lock that layer--or use the Pages panel menu to prevent overrides to that item.)
