Text wrap absolutely will not work!

I need to wrap text around a simple rectangle. I pull up the text wrap screen. I indicate .125 around the photo and no matter what, no response. I've tried with text in front, text in back, selecting all, unsleeping all, selecting just the photo. No response. What am I doing wrong?

Right click the text frame and choose text frame options. Is ignore text wrap selected?

It is gray, so assume it is not selected.

Screenshots, please.

Include the text wrap panel with the image selected.

As per Bob, make sure the image frame is selected (represented by the gray box). A lot of my students initially select the text frame instead when they are trying to figure text wrap out.

Also, if the"Text Wrap Only Affects Text Beneath" preference is checked, text wrap will not affect objects below the text box stacking order. (That preference is to mimic QuarkXPress' behavior.)

Text wrap has other limitations that are worth mentioning:

  • if it is inline/anchored, it will only wrap everything from the line below the insertion point. This is frustrating if a text wrap is required at the top of a page. For example, the image below:

  • if it is floating above the text, it will not wrap any text within a table. For example:

  • if it is anchored to text within a table cell, only text below the insertion point of that cell will be wrapped. For example:

If the answer wasn't in my post, perhaps it might be on my blog at colecandoo!
