In Indesign, when I click on a letter, the cursor goes to the left of that letter instead of the right. This happens even if I click at the right most side of that letter. Usually, if you click on the left side of the letter, the cursor goes before it and if you click on the right side, the cursor goes after the letter. This was the case since I have been using indesign, but after update to CC2019, this problem has started.
Simply go to the hamburger drop down in your Paragraph tab. Choose "Adobe Paragraph Composer". This fixed the issue for me.

It sounds like you may have accidentally installed a different language version of InDesign than the one that you need. Try uninstalling InDesign through the desktop app but before reinstalling go into the Desktop app preferences and change the language to the one that you need.

I think I wasn't able the convey the issue with enough clarity. I checked anyway and the app language was always North America.
To explain the issue more clearly I have made a video. Please refer to it and help me. Thanks!

When you upgraded to CC 2019 did you migrate preferences?

Hi shreyk95619934:
You can check your app language in the CC Desktop app:

Hm. I cannot see this issue with my German version of InDesign CC 2019 14.0.1.209 on Windows 10 Pro.
What's your exact version of InDesign? What's your operating system?
Are there other apps running when this happens? Perhaps browsers with plugins that enforce the behavior?

Uwe

Hi Shreyk:
Since it isn't a language issue, Uwe is likely on the right track by suspecting that it is preferences issue.
This post addresses resetting preferences using three options: keyboard command, manually deleting files and finally regenerating the cache files: https://www.rockymountaintraining.com/adobe-indesign-resetting-preferences-and-deleting-the-cache/.

I have got the same issue. I have it with InDesign CC 2015 and now again with InDesign CC 2019 with my german versions. Very annoing. Deleting preferences or caches doesn’t make anything better.

I have the same issue. I have the English with Hebrew version installed. MacBook Pro.

If you have the Hebrew version installed, then you can probably choose the "Left-to-Right Paragraph Direction" button. Choosing the "Adobe Paragraph Composer" achieves the same end, but only because the Adobe Paragraph Composer doesn't support right-to-left text. If you ever need to typeset any Hebrew, you'd have to make sure that the World-Ready Composer was selected instead.

Hi there,
Thank you for reaching out. To use Arabic, Hebrew language in InDesign, you need to install MENA version as mentioned in this article
and see if the issue is resolved.
We will try our best to help you.

Hi @Hsn60,
I’m sorry to hear that you're having trouble with the cursor behavior while using Arabic and Hebrew languages in InDesign. I understand how disruptive this can be to your workflow.
Could you please let us know which version of InDesign you are currently using and the details of your operating system? Additionally, if possible, could you share a screen recording demonstrating the issue? This will help us better understand the problem and provide more accurate assistance.
Thank you for your cooperation, and we’re here to help!
Best,
Abhishek Rao
