I am working on InDesign 14.0.. I am working on a 44 page pricing document that has threaded text frames, and I import a spreadsheet from Excel. Something has happened where one of my text frames has only 3 table rows then it skips to the next open text frame. I cannot figure out what happened. Please HELP!!!!

Select the table and then go to:

Table > Cell Options > Rows and Columns

and in the "KeepOptions" > "Start Row" choose "Anywhere > OK

Thank you so much! I could not figure out what happened, but the keep options in the cell options screen was blank. I changed it to Anywhere, and it fixed it!!!!

Also, check that some other object layered on the page doesn't have text wrap turned on.

First thing I'd check is that there's not a character/setting to break text following the affected row to the next text frame.

    1) On the InDesign side, click into the 3rd table row with your Text tool. Open the Paragraph panel, then go to the flyaway menu at the upper-right of the panel to select the Keep Options... flyaway menu command. Make sure no options are selected, and that the Start Paragraph: options box shows Anywhere, as illustrated below. Do the same for the first row in the subsequent text frame.

    2) Now check the same in the Excel file, ensuring that there is no break option associated with either affected row in the Excel document like move to next sheet, etc.

If you find custom break settings in either InDesign and/or Excel, dispatch them without mercy. Generally, odd page breaks within InDesign text frames are attributable to these settings.

    Good luck,

    Randy

Maybe the row that has skipped to the next page/frame has been set to Table > Convert > Header?
