Three circles on copied graphic

Does anybody know what this three-circle icon means or does? It appeared when I copied a grey rectangle and a textbox from one doc to another. I set up both docs from scratch, so it's not someone else's setup.

Never seen it before in the decade or so I've been using indd... Any ideas?

Are you sure it isn't part of the "gray rectangle"? Perhaps it's there, but cropped off, in the original image you copied?

@Peter Spier Thanks for commenting!
Na, it scales when I zoom in, so it was an indicator of an effect applied to the shape.
However, when I went back to check the source, just to be sure, I saw an extra line coming off of it. Turns out I had accidentally made an animation for the block. It's an icon to indicate there is an animation on the object.
