TIME SENSITIVE! My Production Team Requires inDesign 17.4.2 (CC 2022)

HELP! Last week I accidentally allowed auto update to overwrite my REQUIRED 2022 ID app and now I cannot find a link to download another version on the CC app.

While I can work in 2023 and 2024 (both downloaded and operating), I CANNOT release art files to our printing production facility due to color management issues.

Can anyone help me with a link to download inDesign 17.4.2 (CC 2022) until our production facility can migrate us to ID 2024 later this spring?

Thank you!

Don't you just get other versions in the Creative Cloud app?

Click the three-dot and choose Other versions.

Choose the version you would like to install/uninstall.

You can only get the prevoius major version, that is right now you can get 2024 and 2023 - but not any earlier versions.

Thanks all, this issue has been resolved — Customer Care sent me a link to download the version I need until we are able to migrate to ID 2024 later this year. Appreciate the support and suggestions!

Thank you for coming back to let us know that Adobe was willing to give you the installers. We hear different reports on whether they will or won't, so very glad to hear that the suggestion worked for you.

Time Machine or other backup image?

You know Peter, that brings up a really good point, thanks. We work almost exclusively with Dropbox for backup and I sync the usual folders, but it didn't occur to me to add Applications to that sync. Doing so now! I actually did get through to Adobe Customer Care and they sent me a link to download the version I need. Taking all precautions now until we are able to keep up to date with versions and our production department. Thank you!

It won't work on a PC.

Hi @h_spurgin , There were no changes to color mangement in CC2023 or 2024, what is the problem you are having with CM?

LOL! Our Production Manager Phil would be able to bend your ear for a considerable amount of time on this topic, Rob Day, thanks for asking. As for me, I'm just the designer and follow the SOPs provided. He says assuming they don't run into issues, all of our DP will be on 24 sometime in April, so there's light at the end of the tunnel. 🙂

But there was no CM change—unless you are talking about Pantone .acb files no longer automatically being installed?

Nothing changed in the application Color Settings, the way documents get profile assignments, or color managed conversions on a PDF export.

Your best bet is to contact Adobe Customer Care to ask for the 2022 installers.

And in the meantime, you might want to also disable auto updates.
