TOC in reflobable epub not clickable on mobile

When I create a reflowable epub with a TOC, the TOC is clickable and leads to the correct location in Kindle previewer and digital editions. However when I click on any TOC link on a mobile nothing happens. When creating the TOC I made sure to select "make text anchor in source paragraph". I noticed when going into the code that anchor links are created like so. The anchor link does seem to match the anchor ID in the destination page. However the links aren't clickable on a mobile and don't lead anywhere.

<p class="TOC-body-text"><a href="eBook_title.xhtml#_idTextAnchor000"><span class="Bold _idGenCharOverride-1">Foreword</span></a></p>

Thank you for your help

What mobile device? What epub reader?

Have you got further information you can share?

Sorry. I should have provided you with more information. I cannot get the TOC working on my android phone or other android phones.  I'm not sure about apple. The links work on Digital editions and Kindle Previewer on my PC.

Here is some of the code for the TOC:

<body id="The_strangest_thankyou_eBook_ver8g-3" lang="en-US" xml:lang="en-US">
<div id="_idContainer004" class="Basic-Text-Frame" epub:type="toc">
<p class="title"><span class="Bold _idGenCharOverride-1">Contents</span></p>
<p class="TOC-body-text"><a href="The_strangest_thankyou_eBook_ver8g-4.xhtml#_idTextAnchor000"><span class="Bold _idGenCharOverride-1">Foreword</span></a></p>
<p class="TOC-body-text"><a href="The_strangest_thankyou_eBook_ver8g-5.xhtml#_idTextAnchor001"><span class="Bold _idGenCharOverride-1">Introduction</span></a></p>

Here is the anchor ID it links to:

<body id="The_strangest_thankyou_eBook_ver8g-4" lang="en-US" xml:lang="en-US">
<div id="_idContainer006" class="_idGenObjectStyleOverride-1">
<p id="_idParaDest-1" class="title"><span class="Bold _idGenCharOverride-1"><a id="_idTextAnchor000"></a>Foreword: Welcome to a New Edition of the Strangest Thankyou</span></p>

<p class="body">The pictures have some of the quality of jigsaws, but such puzzles were never like this before – they are mind mazes that flow in many directions. As for the poems, they also pay off some time spent dwelling within them, as opposed to just glancing over their surfaces. Twists and turns in the language make for innovation which seeds a refreshing dialogue between the poet and his audience.</p>

Again, what reader on Android? EPUB readers vary widely in performance.

FWIW, ADE is a really unreliable reader, especially for testing EPUB interactive features and compatiblity evaluation.

In-text TOCs are unnecessary in EPUB and Kindle as well. Is the reader (dynamic) TOC working correctly?
