Toggle between preview and normal not working

Hi. I can turn on preview mode with the tool at the bottom of the tool bar, and I can turn it off with W key. I'm sure I used to be able to toggle between preview and normal with the W key, but now it doesn't work.  W only turns off preview, not on.

Please help. Thanks.  (Win 10, CC2019)

Hi Sara: W doesn't work if you have an insertion point in a text frame—it adds a w to the text instead. If that isn't the problem, then it is time to rebuild preference/cache files.
