Top of some flyout menus cut off at top, unusable

I've seen similar problems but the steps suggested don't seem to be working. Several of my pop-out panels are getting cut off at the top, rendering them unusable. The most recent issue is with the gradient tool. I can't use the sliders unless I position my cursor above the gradient bar in a very specific place and cannot adjust the center point, never mind change it from linear to radial. This is happening with another menu but I can't recall which right now. I am on Mac 15.6.1 Sequoia running INDD 20.5. No updates available. Have restarted INDD multiple times, please help. This is incredibly frustrating.

Hi @maggie_2575,

Thanks for sharing the details. Could you try resetting InDesign preferences and see if that clears up the issue? This step usually fixes unexpected panel or UI glitches. If you still notice the problem after that, please try renaming the CEP folder to CEP.old from this location on your Mac: /Library/Application Support/Adobe. If it doesn't help, rename the UXP folder to UXP.old from these locations: /Library/Application Support/Adobe and ~/Library/Application Support/Adob

Please give this a try and let me know how it goes.

Thank you, Abhishek, that did work. Is there a certain preference setting that would cause this to happen? I'd like to be able to set INDD up the way I prefer to work and don't want to have to go through resetting on a regular basis. Any advice?

Sadly, currently there's no way to detect what specific preference causes this kind of issues.

However, when the issue is UI-related, you may try to first clear only caches first (not preferences) and see if it solves the issue:

https://www.rockymountaintraining.com/adobe-indesign-rebuilding-preferences-cache/

Also, before clearing preferences, you can export settings first via the File > User Settings > Export… menu, then import them (although I'm not sure exactly what preferences it will preserve).
