I made a document, that in one page are two headings. Formating table of content they are not in order. How should I fix this?

I already tried:

  • Checked the language in paragraph and character styles - both are set to English UK
  • Both headings are perfectly aligned, also I tried left one to put bit higher than right one
  • Checked in the layer panel - left is above right

I'm working with bunch of document based on this template, edit TOC manualy is not a solution.

Hi @Dovile23072679iixd:

Is there a compelling reason you are using four frames when you could be using two threaded frames? When you use threaded frames, this can't happen.

The only thing I can think of is that the tops of the two frames are not at exactly the same height. You might try fooling InDesign by making the left frame taller and changing the text alignment in both to Bottom if having them aligned evenly at the top isn't working.

Are you working with an English language version of InDesign? If not, perhps that's causing the problem and InDesign is looking for text from right to left instead of left to right.

IF the problem is the right-to-left order, then perhaps extending the frame holding heading 2 to the right margin will solve it. Shot in the dark...

Have you tried swapping the positions of the text frames, and then replacing the contents of each text frame with the other?
