Answering your second set of questions are easier than the first, so I'll start there.

Regarding your spacing issues, you have two powerful graphics and text tools to fiddle with to get the results you want.

  • In your text wrap example, reduce the depth of the bottom of the text wrap frame. Your copy block respects its own line spacing, so you could set the bottom of the text wrap in that case to 0 or even use a slight negative value, as long as it isn't more than the leading/slug space for t

It depends. Where does the odd page fall in the book?

If your endnotes are at the very end of the ePub, it would be more of a stylistic call. Would you like to split off the end index as a separate document/chapter in the reading order? Then I'd leave it as it is. If not, just place your text cursor in the odd copy block, Edit>Select All, Edit>Cut it, place a text cursor at the end of the text thread above and then Edit>Place it to make it the last part of the larger, overarching thread. Answering your second set of questions are easier than the first, so I'll start there.

Regarding your spacing issues, you have two powerful graphics and text tools to fiddle with to get the results you want.

  • In your text wrap example, reduce the depth of the bottom of the text wrap frame. Your copy block respects its own line spacing, so you could set the bottom of the text wrap in that case to 0 or even use a slight negative value, as long as it isn't more than the leading/slug space for the line you want to remain affected by the text wrap.
  • On your inline graphic/uneven spacing centered graphic example, it'll be a matter of applying additional "space before" the following paragraph. First, drag a ruler guide to the type baseline (bottom of text, without counting descenders like th bottoms of y, p, q, etc.). I generally place it a couple of lines below the start of the paragraph, lining up with the text baseline across the spread because it indicates your consistent "normal" leading. Then go to your Control Panel paragraph settings and adjust values in the Space Before edit box until the type lines up evenly across the spread. When it does, you'll have the correct space beneath your inline graphic and above the following paragraph of type.

For the first, perhaps the most control can be found just altering the original graphics within InDesign. Select the offending graphic with your Arrow/Selection tool. Then right/control click with the mouse to open the context-sensitive menu and select the Edit Original command. This should open your .JPG file in its default application, which is hopefully Adobe Photoshop. Use the File>Save As... menu command to convert the graphic to .PNG and, if necessary, make adjustments to the image to enhance its appearance after transfer to the new file format.

After that, save and close the .PNG file and go back to InDesign. If the changes aren't reflected within InDesign's Links panel, relink the placed graphic with your new, updated .PNG file. There are some simpler workflows, but this one ensures that you get the best-quality .PNG file placed in your InDesign document.

Hope this helps,

1. Spacing Issue

I gave 1p5 to Space Before as well and ajusted the image with the offset values of zero in Text Wrap.

It looks OK in EPUB.

2. JPG Issue

I converted JPG to PNG with Preview.

Thank you very much for your help.

Glad the rest of my advice was helpful. If you have problems in the future, don't hesitate to come back here and call for help. There are lots of sharp people around here who may be able to lend a hand.

Glad things have worked out well for you,

I'd rather keep Endnotes in an independent textframe.
