Thanks for sharing the details.

I would like to isolate this a bit more, could you confirm whether you're all working on files saved locally, or if they’re stored on external drives, cloud services, or remote servers? 

Also, when you get a chance, please try launching InDesign in Windows Safe Mode or under a new user account to help rule out interference from third-party apps or user-specific configurations. References:

If possible, please also share a short screen recording showing the delay between switching tabs, it'll really help us understand the behavior better and pass it on to the team.
