Since updating to 18.5 a couple days ago, I can no longer easily replace text in the documents from Share for Review comments. My coworkers place notes to replace text, and when I highlight and press copy, or right click to copy, nothing happens!! Now I have to manually type in their text, or go to my email notifications to copy the text. What gives!

Hi together,
also had issues to copy/paste text from a comment.
It worked somehow after I was able to highlight text in a particular comment.
But the highlighting was not consistent, sometimes only parts of the highlighted text were copied.
Sometimes, when I highlighted all the text from a comment, the highlighting, my text selection suddenly shrank to a couple of words or one word without doing anything with my mouse…
I did this with InDesign 18.5. on macOS 12.6.2 on an older Intel iMac.
No screen scaling was done in the OS or in InDesign.

Completely agree - it's so maddening! Pretty much defeats the purpose of the review link if we can't work from within INDD. Might as well go back to PDF sticky notes!

Sorry to hear about the trouble. I understand how frustrating this can be. The bug is already logged, and the team is working on it. Meanwhile, you can try to copy it from the browser view.

thank you for the information, that the team is working on fixing this bug.
I only hope, that there will be a fix with InDesign 2023 and not only with InDesign 2024, that is currently rolled out in phases to the users.

This issue has been beyond annoying as someone who uses share and review for publications. I hope that there is a fix to make the Revie
w/Comments more seamless vs. having to copy comments from the browser view.

I'm having this same issue (Mac M1). I'm sticking with 18.3 until this is resolved. This is still a problem in 2024. I'd rather not have to use the web review as my cut and paste option.

Another plus one here experiencing this bug. Always fun times with Adobe bugs, the seemingly smallest thing can make a huge disturbance in work flow. Please roll out a fix for this soon.

The feature is still available. It's just that there is a bug logged for the issue since it's not working. The team is working on a fix to resolve this. Meanwhile, you can copy the comments from the browser as a workaround.

19.0.1 did not fix it on my end.
The issue is the palettes, Indesign core UI does not accept OS based copy/paste on text fields. InDesign and MacOS somehow do not agree that functionality on the coments palette/panel. I'm on an M2 running Sonoma 14.1.1.
Adobe, I've been using the Review feature with a new client to lay out some fairly complex (and regulated) Medical Device guides and I suggested this process / method to my client to collate edits from multiple sources and to provide a cloud-ish way to collaborate. I must admit, I am near the point of embarrasement to have suggested this review. After doing some research as well, I can't believe it still feels so half-baked after all these years. I would be delighted to hop on a call with a PM and explain where all the major issues are and hopefully help the team deliver a significant improvement. I mean, it is marginally better than a Red sharpie on printed proofs. Excuse the directness but this feature is so frustrating.

Four months and several updates later, we are still experiencing this burdensome bug. I encouraged and taught all of my customers to use this feature and can now explain that we need to change our way of cloud-based cooperation again ?! This is just embarrassing! The sudden lack of the possibility to copy/paste text from the comments renders the review function completely useless and needs to be fixed ASAP. Instead, adobe focuses on releasing one questionable AI feature after the other. Adobe definitely needs to check its priorities instead of turning the software into a feature-overloaded kindergarten.

Just words and no action, months in. Scripted replies aren’t fun. This is a big problem, you don’t just wait to hear from them, please go higher in the hierarchy if necessary, this isn't how things should be working.
