unable to insert pages correctly

going from version 1 of my 150 page book to version 2, i can no longer insert a master or none after a spread. Every time i try to insert a blank page or spread, the program puts the pages on the right of the pair instead of after or between. I found the fix about turning off page and or spread shuffle, but they are not switched on. help! All page numbers under spreads in pages panel are in brackets. This was fine (no brackets and inserting normally) on previous saved versions, but somehow going from one to the next something changed

I found the fix about turning off page and or spread shuffle, but they are not switched on.

Select the pages in Pages panel and turn them both back on in the Pages panel menu. Having them unchecked is the problem. When you turn them back on the brackets will disappear and the pages return to their normal positions.

Yes it did. The shuffle commands need to be on. A web fix I found said they needed to be clicked off. That was wrong. On is the way to go. Thanks Barb
