Unable to install ESTK on Mojave (version 10.14.3)

Hi all,

I just upgraded my Mac: installed a brand new hard disk and made a clean install of Mojave.

Then I successfully installed all the adobe apps I needed, but with ESTK I've got into a trouble.

I downloaded it from here.

When I try to install it, I get the following error:

Clicking on the link opens this page which is of no use to me.

I tried to re-download it, but got the same error.

Before ESTK did work for me on Mojave, but then, before the upgrade, I updated OS: first from El Capitan to Mojave 10.14.2 and then to 10.14.3.

Any ideas why it ain't working now: after the clean install?

Hi,

As the ExtendScript toolkit is not able to be installed on Mojave, you can use the solution below.

There is a extension to Visual Studio Code that is the expected method for working with Scripts for the above applications.

If you download Visual Studio Code -  Download Visual Studio Code - Mac, Linux, Windows

Go to Extensions - View -> Extensions ( Shift + Apple + X)

Search for "ExtendScript Debugger"

There should be a result which is from Adobe.

Hey.

So, it is the case that you cannot install ESTK on Mojave? Thats a bummer.

Although I strongly want to, and am moving to VSCode, I find at times the need on customers macs, that I have deployed scripts to, to quickly debug certain issues using ESTK.

I have been lucky that most Macs I have been involved with (including my own) have been upgraded from other versions, but its only a matter of time before I come up against this issue.

Is there an official statement on this?

Accidentally, I've found a solution:
I option + double clicked a jsx-file in the Scripts panel to open it for editing expecting it would open in a default application, or OS would suggest me to choose a program to open it with.

Instead, the Adobe Creative Cloud activated and started downloading ESTK which showed up in the list now.

After I fixed the  Cannot execute script in target engine 'main'! (#1116) Can't start debug session bug, it works as usual.

I just thought I'd try an install ESTK on a fresh Mojave (on a T2 Mac Mini) and installed OK.

I am wondering what the official comment from Adobe is on this.
