Unable to move pages

Hello, I've come to ask for your help because I don't understand how to move a page in my document...

I just want to move page 2 instead of page 1, (I want page 2 to become page 1 and page 1 to become page 2)
But when I do that, Indesign systematically moves page 2 to the end of the previous page variant...
I've tried right-clicking "move pages", but that doesn't work either...
Is my Indesign malfunctioning or is there something I haven't thought of?
I've been at this for an hour now, and I must confess I'm running out of patience....
Do you have any suggestions? Are there perhaps other ways of doing things?
Thank you very much.

And your screenshot looks a bit strange to me...

What version of InDesign are you using? Any extra plugins / extensions?

no it doesn't work.

I'm using the latest version.
But I've just uninstalled the software to install a previous version.

It still doesn't work.

I'm thinking of installing an even older version.

I'm really getting fed up with the bugs in Adobe software. It's taking up an awful lot of my time!

The solution I've come up with is to dupe the first page so that it comes after the second page. (the bug persists, I get a page in the other page variant, but it lets me get what I want).

Have you tried resetting preferences?

https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign-discussions/reset-indesign-preferences-and-other-troubleshoo...

Reinstallation alone won't clear preferences.

Or your file is corrupted - try IDMLing - export as IDML, open, save with a new name.

Thanks for your reply.

But it still doesn't work.
I also tried it on a new document. The bug persists.

LATEST

Hi @Gaël Illustrations,

Thank you for sharing the info. Would you mind creating a short video of the issue? Does that happen with all files or with a specific file? Is the issue also happening with the previous version or just with the latest 19.4 version?

We will try our best to help.

Thanks,

Harshika
