Updated Font does not update in InDesign

Hi All, i have a custom font made at Glyphter

It works fine for the most part in both InDesign and non-Adobe apps such as MS Word. Recently however i needed to make some changes to the glyphs in the glyph table and after updating the font in Windows 10, ensuring its correctly loaded and working correctly in MS apps, InDesign simply doesn't update the font.

I can confirm the font works in InDesign, just the expected newly added glyphs are not displaying in InDesign. Instead InDesign has glyphs from a very old version of the same named custom font, indicating its using some kind of font cache and not the newly installed font in Win10.

I am using the latest version of InDesign.

I have already tried deleting system .DAT font caches found in the steps here

but still the problem persists.

I have spoken with Adobe Support that are trying to tell me the issue is not an Adobe app issue (which it clearly is as i can verify the font works as expected in all Non-Adobe apps) so gave up on them and their remote session.

Can anyone help? indicate where i can clear the cache or stored fonts for InDesign to get the newly installed font to rebuild the glyph table?

Thank you Brad, to be completely honest the font for some reason is now working. I did do some maintenance over the weekend including clearing out unnessary files with CCleaner, perhaps that did the trick, but your response sounds reasonable and likely to have at least nailed down the issue.

If you have successfully cleaned the font cache, then if you are still seeing the old glyphs, InDesign is getting them from somewhere to redraw. Where exactly did you install the font? note that Win 10 can install fonts in more than one place.. i.e. A) for all users, or B) for a specific user, and then also C) in a Document Fonts folder for the document, and also D) InDesign's application font folder. Anyone of these might have a copy of the old glyphed font.

Where does it say your font is located withing a document? (Find/Replace font dialog). You can either see the whole path below or use the reveal in Finder to take you to the actual locaton.

If what it finds is the updated font, then you have NOT successfully purged the font cache. Try again, and make sure your reboot after doing so.

Does this happen in other Adobe apps as well (Illustrator, Photoshop) or InDesign only?

As a last resort, you may also try to save this font under a different name, then replace it in your InDesign document via the Find/Replace Font dialog.

Hi Glyphter is not a font but rather a font generator, so im unclear which font you are referring to.

I have and it is not. Also as explained in my opening thread, the font works fine in all Non-Adobe apps and also works in InDesign albeit for notupdating the glyphs when re-installing the font. This is a Cache issue or similar... i am certain of it
