Using InDesign for School Yearbooks

Is there an extention or app that works with InDesign that allows for the "flowing" of yearbook, portrait pages. Student names and photos need to be placed on a page so that the photo appears with the student name below it. With hundreds of names and photos it's not practical to do this one student at a time. It needs to be authomated. Yearbook companies provide this with there online systems but I've yet to see something that works with InDesign alone. I've used a spreadsheet with Data Merge to accomplish this in the past but it's very cumbersome. I'm looking for something that will make this easier to accomplish.

thx

Correct answer

Also any of the catalog / database publishing plug-ins would do this.

I don't have any particular ones to recommend.
