›verzerrte‹ Anzeige mit ›gebrochenen‹ Linien und Rändern

Hallo allerseits,

Hi @vergem,

Thank you for reaching out and providing detailed information about the issue. It sounds like a display rendering problem, which can sometimes be related to graphics settings.

To help investigate further, could you confirm a few details for us?

1. What is the display resolution and refresh rate you’re using on your Dell UltraSharp U2515H?

2. Are you using an HDMI, DisplayPort, or Type-C cable to connect your monitor?

Additionally, please check your monitor’s on-screen display (OSD) menu for any settings related to tearing, FreeSync, G-Sync, VRR control, or black frame insertion. Try turning these settings on or off to see if that helps with the issue.

These details will help us narrow down the potential causes of the issue and find the best solution.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Best regards,

Anshul Saini

Hello Anshul Saini,

thanks for the response and the questions.

1. The display resolution is 2540 × 1440 and the refresh rate 6 ms

2. The display and computer are connected to each other via HDMI.

3. The settings on the monitor had no influence on the display in InDesign.

After some searching, I have now found the solution. The problem had nothing to do with the graphics card or the display, but with the ›user interface scaling‹ setting in the preferences. The slider was set to ›small‹, but the user interface was not supposed to be scaled. Once this was set, i.e. the slider was in the centre, the problem disappeared and the display of the lines remained stable. There were no more distortions or breaks.

Best regards

Jürgen

Hi @vergem,

Thank you for updating us! We're glad to hear you identified the solution. Adjusting the User Interface Scaling slider to the center was a great troubleshooting step.

If you have further questions or need assistance, feel free to reach out. We're here to help! 😊

Hello Abhishek,

thanks for the feedback. In fact, I still have two questions related to problem:

1. What resolution does a monitor need for InDesign so that the slider in the 'Scale user interface' setting can be set to 'small'?

2. There used to be a 'CPU Performance' section in the preferences. I can no longer find it in the current version. Where is the setting hidden?

Regards

Jürgen

Hi @vergem,

Thank you for your follow-up questions! I’m happy to help clarify these for you.

InDesign allows you to set the User Interface Scaling slider to 'small' for higher resolution displays (typically 1920x1080 or above), where the UI elements might appear too large. However, if you are using an ultra-high-definition monitor, such as a 4K display, you may notice better results by setting the slider in the center or to 'large' for optimal clarity and usability. Ultimately, it's about finding a balance that suits your screen resolution and personal preference.

You're right! In InDesign 2025, the "Performance" section has indeed been streamlined, and the older "CPU Performance" settings have been removed. The new version no longer includes a dedicated section for tweaking CPU or GPU performance as previous versions did.

Instead, performance optimization in InDesign 2025 relies more on the system's hardware and software optimizations, including GPU acceleration and display scaling settings that are automatically adjusted based on your machine's capabilities.

Let me know if you have more questions or need further assistance!

Best,
Abhishek Rao
