Video in InDesign document won't export to interactive PDF

Hi! I'm curently creating my portfolio for a design school I'm applying to. One of the pages in my portfolio contains a video. As I've not used InDesign too much before, I had to look up how to insert a video in an indesign document. After many failed atempts, I think I've gotten it down. I followed this websites advice: https://www.creativebloq.com/how-to/how-to-add-video-to-interactive-pdfs . But after trying to export my Indesign file to an interactiv PDF, the video is just an image. So I tried one more time and this time i noticed a message after pressing the export button. As I'm Swedish, I don't know the exact translation of the message in English but it pretty much says that "one or more interactive elements are cropped in av way that can not be recreated i a PDF-file. These objects will be adjusted in the exported PDF-file." The only interactiv feature in my file is the video and the message had not appered when i exported the file before adding the video. The video is fitted to a frame that was added before the the videofile and I can't see anything wrong with it when I look at it. Help please!!!

Standard advice: Forget it. You'll never get it to work reliably.

Video? Only mp4 can work but still then iPDF is wonky.

What happens if it is a mp4 and you use Publish online, does it work then?

Viedeos in PDF need Flash.

Since Flash has been removed since many Years you canntot vie viedeos in PDF.

The use of viedeos is possible in publish online and in EPUBs and in HTML5, not in PDF. Forget it.

You can create a nirmal URL link to a web page with that video.

No, mp4 does not need Flash, but it depends on your Adobe Acrobat Preferences, change that in Media from Flash to native player! For example: Quicktime.

(But every client has to do this and view it in Acrobat with that preference, you have to tell them as you can not control that for everyone that opens your PDF. And don't even start about (Android) tablets. Forget iPDF in daily use...

As has been mentioned here, suggest you look at Publish Online for your portfolio. It supports all of InDesign's interactive features and video/audio, and can be viewed in any browser. Here are some great examples of how it can be used: http://bit.ly/PubOnCollection
