Video issues with InDesign v17

Since installing InDesign v17 I have been experiencing video artifacts and "tearing" of images on a regular basis. I'm not seeing anything out of the ordinary with CPU usage and the app seems to be running smoothly otherwise; but this is bad enough to make the app almost unusable. Has anyone else experienced similar issues?

I am on a 2019 Macbook Pro

64GB Ram

Radeon Pro 5500M w/ 8GB VRam

Suggestions or workarounds would be appreciated.

Ouch. Well, Bob... I spoke too soon. That did address the issue on the doc I was working on but the problem returned when I switched documents. The second doc is a larger publication, BTW.

I'm attaching some screen grabs of a couple of pages to illustrate. This is what occurs when I scroll the document. Screen grabs are from a preview mode, but the problem happens in all modes.

Tried diabling GPU Performance option, trashing prefs and disabling again; then rebooting and restarting InDesign.

Looking for other solutions now, but may just revert to v16x if nothing else works.

That really looks like the GPU Performance issue. Have you checked the video drivers? What MacOS version are you running. I'm seeing lots of complaints with Monterey.

I stuck with Big Sur for that very reason. Currently v11.6.

Might it be worthwhile to actually upgrade to Monterrey and then reinstall InDesign?
