OK! Let's have a little fun!
Since upgrading to CC 2019, I've been reading this bizarre message in my Startup Workspace every day when open InDesign.
"When in doubt, make a layout."
What does this mean?
Is anyone here ever in doubt when designing a layout?
Hmm! Maybe if they're a not designer. Or they've never used InDesign.
In Illustrator, at least, the message is inspirational: "Let's design great graphic today, Jeff."
Come on InDesign team. You have the best layout application in world, please rewrite this silly message.

I love the idea! I just added a couple of phrases above!

I love these, but here's all Illustrator has to say to me:

My 2¢, if you don't mind:
For beginners:
All things are difficult before they are easy. © Dr. Thomas Fuller
For Background Tasks lovers:
Multitasking is a way to screw up several things at once.
For perfectionists:
I am always satisfied with the best. © Oscar Wilde
For scripters:
The smart man is the lazy man.
For 'the Latest and Greatest version' lovers:
Any new feature starts with minus 100 points.
For hardware junkies:
A computer is never done, you're just out of money.
From the miniseries "Next Generation's Jokes":
"192 GB ought to be enough for anybody."
For all poor creatives:
I only do what the voices in my head command...
To all the rest –
Things to do today:
1. Get up
2. Survive
3. Go back to bed
And one of my favorites:
Think finishing at the beginning.

This one should read:
“When in doubt, don’t start.”

Jane,
AFAIK, the 'classic' version of this is "When in doubt, use brute force"
And here's another idea – a message in every new CC version (until the first patch release):
… it ought to work.

It's a little buggy, but it should get me there.

Hey, Jeff, your thread really inspired me this Saturday night! Just another one for creatives:
Dead end is a good excuse to break the wall.

My buck o'five for titles:
Photoshop
"don't you DARE set up a business card in here"
"of course you can do THAT, my friend said its easy in Photoshop"
Illustrator
"don't you DARE set up a book in here"
InDesign
"It's OK, your client will know it when they see it"
"Make three mockups, I'm sure they'll choose the worst one"
"Did you try trashing your preferences?"

Also, does anyone remember that thread a few years ago about converting a completed magazine created in entirely in Photoshop to InDesign?
So for Photoshop: "Do Not Use To Create Magazines!

About a year ago I got an entire menu for a major restaurant chain that way designed in Photoshop. Everything was designed in Printers Spreads. What a waste of time and money. Making changes was a nightmare. And of course all of the Layers were not named.
I asked my new client for the name of the designer. I was going to call and yell at him, but I chickened out.
