If it happens in all InDesign files you create or open, restore your InDesign preferences:

Adobe InDesign: Rebuilding Preferences and Cache Fileshttps://www.rockymountaintraining.com › adobe-...''

If it only happens in a single file, it may be corrupted: Choose File > Save As > InDesign CS4 or Later [IDML]. Open the IMDL file in InDesign.

All the save possibilities are grayed out! I ended up reinstalling the app. Sadly, last week other issues... I'm tired of all the bugs : (

Hi there,

Sorry about the trouble of reinstalling you had to go through. This generally happens when the third-party application is interfering with InDesign. In that case, you may try running the app in Safe Mode (Mac) & Root account (Macand launch InDesign only. Then, open the document, use command + Z, and try saving the document. In Safe Mode, your system starts to perform certain checks and prevent third-party software/ services from automatically loading or opening. Also, it can happen due to corrupt preferences. In that case, you may try resetting them as to suggested above by @Steve Werner. I hope it helps!

Regards,

Anshul Saini
