what's the different for adobe pdf presets and print presets

Hi everybody,

I'm new for using indesign,

actually, I try this two ways to export pdf before, same setting(may be)

but can't find out any different,

so I want to learn more about this,

when use adobe pdf preset, or when use print preset?

    its for commercial litho printing actually,

    so nobody to use Distiller now?

    I just try to learning their different to decided use which is better.....


    Distiller is way too old to use for print workflows these days. Among other reasons: It doesn't support transparency; it doesn't support color management; strips out all tagging so it could be repurposed or support accessible screen readers; it doesn't support layers...

    You should also choose File > Export > Adobe PDF (Print) and choose the appropriate PDF preset.

    Pretty simple: If you're using File > Print, you can create and use a Print Preset. If you're creating a PDF with File > Export > Adobe PDF (Print) you can create and use a PDF Preset.

    You might try reading more in InDesign Help.

    ah.....sorry....my mistake!

    I mean print preset also can create pdf,

    I define the new rule "HIGH" setting for create pdf

    and I try to use adobe pdf preset to create pdf

    use the "HIGH" setting too

    I think there was no difference

    may be the one different just print preset through Distiller to create pdf?

    Don't use Distiller to create a PDF, that's an obsolete workflow.

    What's the purpose of your PDF: an Interactive PDF, for commercial litho printing, for a desk-top printer or for document circulation?
