I found a file with a color named Pantone 5-5 CVS.

What does CVS stand for?

Heh! If anyone would know it, you would, Colin!

Indeed, it lists them all on p 97 of that Enfocus manual.

CVS is an old way of saying Process Coated; now simply C.

I wonder how many times over the years Pantone has changed these denotations?

Thanks everyone.

Cheers for the link from Pantone's site by @Jeffrey_Smith

An even more detailed list of suffixes can be found on pages 96-97 of the Enfocus Action List manual - https://www.enfocus.com/en/support/downloads/pitstop-action-lists

FYI - Pantone and Esko (Enfocus' parent company) are both owned by Veralto.

If the answer wasn't in my post, perhaps it might be on my blog at colecandoo!

Hi Jeffrey, alas that list does not mention it!

It was in an early edition of InDesign Classroom-in-a-Book in a lesson file. This would be circa 2000.

I know, generally, that Pantone has adjusted the way they describe and denote colors, but I did not remember this one.

I have a brief instructive article about all the Pantone nomenclature on my website, but this one is not in my researched list.

Doesn't ring a bell. The only connection I can find is for branding info/colors for the CVS pharmacy chain.

Typo? Some designer's secret code?
